USA Captures Gold at WJAC
The Chicago Steel would like to send out a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Assistant Coach R.J. Enga, forward Thomas Ebbing, defenseman Jaccob Slavin, and the U.S. Junior Select Team on winning the gold medal at the 2012 World Junior A Challenge in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
The U.S. team went 2-0 in the preliminary rounds of the tournament with wins over Canada East and Switzerland, before continuing to the semifinals, defeating the Swiss again. They faced Canada West in the gold medal match to earn their fourth gold medal in five years at the WJAC.
Thomas Ebbing recorded one assist and four penalty minutes in the tournament. Although Jaccob Slavin did not have any points, he had the honor of serving as alternate captain for the US squad.
Way to go USA!
