February's Aviation Universe Player of the Month is...

Drew Smolcynski!!

The Chicago Steel would like to announce that Drew Smolcynski has been named the Aviation Universe Player of the Month for February.

A 5-foot 11, 170-pound forward, Smolcynski registered three goals and four assists last month, including the game-winning goal to drive the Steel to a 6-4 victory over the Des Moines Buccaneers on Feb. 23. Smolcynski has registered seven points in eight games with the Steel after being acquired from the Indiana Ice in a trade on Feb. 6.

Throughout his time at the Steel, Smolcynski has shown heart, determination, and passion, both on and off the ice. Smolcynski will play collegiately at St. Lawrence University beginning in the fall of 2013.
