The Chicago Steel head to Nebraska this weekend for back-to
back games against the Tri-City Storm, a team that they have had success
against in the past. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and at 7:05 p.m. on
Saturday.
The Steel (1-1-1) head into the weekend coming off a 3-2 home
loss last Friday to the Bloomington Thunder and a 4-3 overtime loss to the
Green Bay Gamblers on Saturday. The Storm (2-1-0) were defeated 5-3 last Friday
by the Sioux Falls Stampede, but rebounded on Saturday, earning a 2-1 shootout
victory against Des Moines. The Steel were able to take both games against the
Storm a season ago, and have not lost to Tri-City since the 2011-2012 campaign.
Steel Forward Mason Bergh continued his hot start, picking up two points (1g, 1a) this past weekend. Bergh leads the USHL in points (8) and assists (6). The Steel offense will have to find a way to score on Storm goaltender Alec Dillon who has proved to be a force in net this season, turning away 69 of 73 shot attempts against him and posting a 2-0 record on the season.
