Alex Sakellaropoulos!
The Chicago Steel would like to announce that Alex
Sakellaropoulos has been named the Aviation Universe Player of the Month for
January.
Sakellaropoulos registered 165 saves in seven games and
had a 0.90 save percentage this past month. On Jan. 13, he made several crucial
saves in overtime and in the shootout against Muskegon to propel the Steel to a
2-1 victory. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound goalie was also added to the 2013 USHL/NHL
Top Prospects Game on Jan. 24. In 29 minutes of action, Sakellaropoulos stopped
all nine shots he faced while in net for Team East.
Throughout his time at the Steel, Sakellaropoulos has
exemplified strong leadership skills and a never-quit-attitude, both on and off
the ice.
