Chicago Steel Week 13 Game Preview

The Chicago Steel have one game on the docket this weekend before taking a short break for the holidays. On Friday, the Steel head to Michigan to take on the Muskegon Lumberjacks with puck drop set for 6:15 p.m. CST.

The Steel (11-10-2) split their week 12 games against Madison and Green Bay. Friday's 8-1 Steel victory in Madison was highlighted by Brendon Kearney’s hat trick and John Lethemon’s 36 saves. Mason Bergh and Freddy Olofsson each notched two goals as well. On Saturday, Connor Murphy and Connor McDonald tallied the two Steel goals but it wasn’t enough to beat the Gamblers as Chicago fell 4-2.

The Muskegon Lumberjacks (17-7-1) are currently in second place in the Eastern Conference. The Lumberjacks are coming off a two-game split with the Sioux Falls Stampede. In their first matchup this season, the Steel lost to Muskegon 4-3. These two teams will face-off against one another three times in the next 15 days.

Chicago will return to the Edge Ice Arena in 2015 for back-to-back games on Friday, January 2nd and Saturday, January 3rd. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Steel ticket office at 630-594-1161 or by visiting tickets.chicagosteelhockeyteam.com. The January Family Pack, featuring 4 Tickets, 4 Hot Dogs, 4 Sodas and 4 Pucks for $38, can also be purchased by calling the Steel ticket office.
