A Weekend For The Books

Happy Monday Steel Fans! We hope you had a great weekend and were able to attend a game. This past weekend the Steel went 2-0 winning against the Indiana Ice and the Tri-City Storm. Tomorrow we will have a video recap of both games, along with some of the game footage.

However, for today, we thought we would share the Friday's post-game interview from Coach Kelly Gee, Joel Benson, and Alex Sakellaropoulo, all giving their feedback on the opening game.

After both of the games this weekend, fans were able to interact with some of the players. On Friday, fans were able to meet and get autographs from Alex Sakellaropoulos, Joel Benson, and Christian Neumann.

Fans were lined up down the concourse, just to have a quick meet and greet with some of their favorite players.

The guys were willing to sign anything: shirts, pucks, pictures, you name it, they'd sign it.

On Saturday, after the game, fans were able to go on the ice and skate with all of the players for a full 25 minutes. Talk about ending a great game with a bang!

Some of the kids and parents didn't have skates, but did we see that as a problem? Nope! Fans were able to rent skates at the rink for only $1.

Players were signing autographs, skating around with the fans, and if you were lucky enough to have brought a camera,  you could have even gotten your picture taken with them.

To be able to come away opening weekend with a 2-0 start, and have fun hanging out with the fans, we'd say it was a perfect weekend.
